
Funeral services will be held for Ronald J. Constantin, 68, at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, at Duhon Funeral Home-Crowley Chapel with Rev. Clint Trahan officiating. The family is requesting visitation begin on Friday, April 29, from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 p.m. and resume on Saturday at 8 a.m. until just prior to the time of service. Interment will follow the service and will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley. Mr. Constantin passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at a Baton Rouge hospital.
Ronald was born in Rayne and raised in Crowley. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, large family cookouts, spending time with his children and family and friends. His first job was a butcher with Po Boy’s in Crowley, and then he was hired by Brown and Root as a contractor for Shell Oil Chemical Plant in Deer Park, Texas, working as an instrumentation project manager where he later retired. He was also a baseball coach and a boxer in Rayne in his younger years. He was a hard-working, easygoing, fun-loving, amazing father, grandfather, brother and son who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Constantin is survived by daughters and son-in-laws, Shiela and Jeff Hayes of Crowley, Julie and Joe Moody of Baytown, Texas, and Kimberly and Charles White of Spring, Texas; his children’s mother, Cheryl Breaux Stapp of Crowley; seven grandchildren, Hailee Hayes, Aimee Hayes, Jenafer and husband Ryan Milum, Brittney Moody, Kassie Powell, John Henry Powell and Madison Powell; two great-grandsons, Kaison Cashi and Kai Powell; three brothers, Gerald Constantin of Rayne, Bernard and wife Karen Constantin of Crowley and Jeffery Constantin of Rayne; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles; and close friend, Kat Ashworth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ophe Joseph Constantin and Ena Marie Comeaux Constantin.
Pallbearers are Bernard Constantin, Gerald Constantin, Jeffery Hayes, Joseph Moody, Charles White and John Henry Powell. Honorary pallbearers will be Kaison Cashi and Kai Powell.
