Delores P. Pierce

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m. at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church for Delores P. Pierce, 75, who died Sept. 21, 2016, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Services will be conducted by Rev. Gerard Perkins.
Interment will be in West Crowley Cemetery.
She is survived by two sons, Darryl W. Pierce (R. Denise) of Austin, Texas, and Tracy D. Nash (Tonya R.) of Lafayette; nine grandchildren, Tamesha Morales (Alfredo), Darryl W. Robinson, Maya Y. Calixte (Reggie), Christopher L. Pierce, Tracy D. Nash Jr., Toni D. Nash, Jennifer Mackey, Terrell House and Eldridge L. Peterman II; one great-grandchild, Elijah J. Johnson; three sisters, Betty Jones Harper of Vallejo, California, and Joyce Green and LaVera George, both of Crowley; one sister-in-law, Laurita Pete of Crowley; four foster sisters, Debra, Peggy and Theresa Andrews of Lake Charles and Diane Harmon of Jennings; three foster brothers, Freddie Johnson of Inglewood, California, Eugene Harmon of Minnesota and Darrell Harmon of Crowley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Pierce Jr.; parents, Celina and Lloyd Pete Sr.; three brothers, Lloyd Pete Jr., Sidney Pete and Melvin Pete; and four sisters, Geraldine Pete Dawson, Ella Louise Pete, Carolyn Pete and Lattie Ann Pete.
Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 30, at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and continue Saturday, Oct. 1, from 9 a.m. until time of service.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Sept. 30, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Iota, for Floyd J. Potia, 95, who died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016, at 9:35 a.m. at Southwind Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Crowley.
Fr. Jude Thierry, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Thursday from 2:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. A rosary will be recited Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum.
Mr. Potia is survived by one daughter, Jeanelle Hebert of Iota; one son, Floyd Potia and his wife Clara of Egan; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Breaux Potia; his parents, Dudley Potia and Sebastiene Fritch; and one sister, Bertha Doga.

Norman Lee Saxton

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Oct. 3, at 2 p.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Crowley for Norman Lee Saxton, 61, who died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016, at 3:50 p.m. at Christus St. Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles.
He was a graduate of Lafayette High School and received his bachelor’s degree from USL (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette). Norman was the district manager at Baker Hughes in Crowley. He enjoyed boating and fishing.
Fr. Michael DeBlanc, associate pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Sunday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. A rosary will be recited Sunday at 7 p.m. by Deacon Dan Didier. Burial will be in Woodlawn Mausoleum.
Norman is survived by his wife of 13 years, Cynthia Clement Saxton of Church Point; two sons, Christopher Norman Saxton and wife Meagan of Lafayette and Matthew Allen Saxton and wife Anne Marie of Youngsville; two step-children, Madeleine Reed Meche and husband Zach of Iota and Scott Reed Jr. of Rayne; one sister, Andrea Saxton of Las Vegas; one brother, Rudy Saxton of Baton Rouge; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lee and Doris Bosa Saxton.
Pallbearers will be Zach Meche, Dwight Kent, Gerald Doucet, Earl Ledet, Gardner Clement and Charles Clement.
