Funeral services will be held for Johnny Hanks, 77, at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 29, at Roberts Cove Church of Christ with Minister Jason Corder officiating. The family has requested that visitation be held at Duhon Funeral Home Chapel-Crowley on Thursday, April 28, from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. and will resume on Friday at 8 a.m. until just prior to the time of service. Interment will follow the church service and will be in Kie Hebert Cemetery in Roberts Cove. Mr. Hanks passed away on Monday, April 25, 2016, at The Carpenter House-St. Joseph Hospice of Lafayette.
Mr. Hanks is survived by his loving wife of 55 1/2 years, Olivia Marie Hanks of Roberts Cove; children, Edmund Hanks and his wife Polly of Roberts Cove, Kurt Hanks and his wife Stacie of Crowley, Jeffery Hanks and his wife Melissa of Beaumont, Texas, Thomas Hanks and his wife Natalie of Roberts Cove and Tammy Hanks of Roberts Cove; grandchildren, Dustin Hanks, Garret Hanks, Taylor Hanks, Gabie Hanks, Dani Hanks and Emily Hanks; three step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret James and Hazel Schexnider; and brothers, Horace Hanks and Autry Hanks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Adelia Hanks; brothers, Freddie Hanks, Clifton Hanks and Ramsey Hanks; and one sister, Beulah Romero.
Pallbearers will be Garret Hanks, Taylor Hanks, Ridge Hanks, Tyler Hanks, Justin Monk and Kevin Hanks.
