
Funeral services will be held for Donald J. Lavergne, 53, at 2 p.m.. on Wednesday, March 23, at Duhon Funeral Home, LLC, Crowley, Chapel with Pastor Berl Adams officiating.
The family is requesting visitation begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, March 22, until 10 p.m. and resume on Wednesday, at 8 a.m. until just prior to the service time.
Interment will follow the service and will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Lavergne passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016, at 11:45 a.m.
Mr. Lavergne, a lifelong resident of Crowley, worked for many years as an auto mechanic in the Crowley area. He enjoyed cooking, loved putting together and collecting “model cars” and spending time with his family and friends.
Donald is survived by his son, Donald Coffey; one step-daughter, Misty Boatman of Iowa; one step-son, Chris Boatman of Iowa; one grandson; his brother, Rives Lavergne Sr. of Crowley; sister, Cathy Hanks and husband Conrad of Crowley; three godchildren; two nieces; two nephews; six great-nephews and five great nieces.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Rives Lavergne and Roseline Navarre Lavergne.
Pallbearers will be Blake Hanks, Daniel Thibodeaux, Rives Lavergne Jr., Joseph Credeur, Gage Cormier and Lawrence “Pieo” Navarre.
Honorary pallbearers will be Hayven Credeur, Kobe Davis and Kaven Davis.
