
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Aug. 5, at 10 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Thelma Ann Cormier, 75, who died Sunday, July 31, 2016, at 6:30 a.m. at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Fr. Mikel Polson, pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. A rosary will be recited Thursday at 6:30 p.m. by Deacon Dan Didier at the funeral home. Burial will be in Abshire Cemetery.
Mrs. Cormier is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Dudoet and her husband Michael Sr. of Crowley and Diane Lavergne of Crowley; one son, Richard Stewart of Egan; one brother, Moise Cormier and wife Paula of McAlester, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and 13 step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Curley and Nancy Laughlin Cormier; and three sisters, Lois Cormier, Shirley Morgan and Joyce Chism.
