
David Bernard Leger
ROBERTS COVE - Funeral services were held at St. Leo IV Catholic Church, Monday, July 25, at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial for David Bernard Leger, 61, who died Friday, July 22, 2016.
Interment was in the St. Leo IV Cemetery in Roberts Cove.
Rev. Paul Broussard, pastor of St. Leo IV Catholic Church in Roberts Cove, was celebrant for the Funeral Mass. Reader was his sister-in-law, Stephanie Naquin Leger, and Eucharistic Minister was his sister Margaret Leger Doucet. Music was provided by the St. Leo IV Choir.
Surviving are one daughter, Kimberly Leger Mouton and husband Timothy of Rayne; son, Edward William “Eddie” Leger of Lafayette; three grandchildren, Madison Jane Mouton, Brianna Elise Mouton and Owen James Mouton, all of Rayne;mother, Dorothy “Dot” Ohlenforst Leger; one sister, Margaret Leger Doucet and husband Malcolm; two brothers, Mark Anthony Leger and wife Debra Vincent Leger, and Wayne Joseph Leger and wife Stephanie Naquin Leger, all of Rayne.
He was preceded in death by father, William Joseph “Fats” Leger; paternal grandparents, Bernard and Zula F. Leger; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Walburga Ohlenforst.
David was a member of St. Basil Knights of Columbus, Council 10721 in Judice, and was a philanthropist of LARC.
A rosary was recited on Sunday, July 24, at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.
Friends were received at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., on Sunday, July 24, from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Monday, July 25, from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
Pallbearers were his two brothers, Mark Leger and Wayne Leger; son-in-law, Timothy Mouton; brother-in-law, Malcolm Doucet; nephews, Matt Doucet and William Leger; and his friend, Ryan Comeaux.
