Mrs. Winifred Merle (Preston) Barrick, affectionately known as Wini, age 64, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, in her home.
Born Oct. 13, 1951, in Church Point, she was a graduate of the Crowley High School class of 1969, and attended college at Louisiana State University. She worked as a legal secretary for the Edwards Law Firm. Wini was intrigued by genealogy and was involved in Daughters of the American Revolution.
Wini was preceded in death by her parents, Florentine “Flo” Lee Wilson and Willard “Bill” Merle Preston; her brother, Edward Coen Jr.; and her nephew, Aaron Preston.
She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Robert Barrick; daughter, Nadia (Barrick) Mahannah and husband Jesse of Georgetown; son, Jeffrey Barrick and wife Beth of El Paso, Texas; brothers, Milton Douglas Coen of Islip, New York, and W. Dwayne Preston of Georgetown; and grandchildren, Courtney and Alex Mahannah and Ryan Barrick.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to A-Med Community Hospice in Austin, Texas, for the wonderful care, compassion and loving kindness of the nurses and aides.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 21, at 11 a.m., followed by a funeral service at noon, at the Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78628.
